Announcements for Sunday, February 5, 2012

 

    • The second collection today is for St. Vincent de Paul Ministry.
    • Training for new altar servers today (Sunday February 5th) at 2:00 p.m. 
    • Angel Gabriel Ministry will have a meeting on Wednesday, February 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room.  All pro-life people who want to be active in promoting and defending life are invited.
    • Holy Cross Retreat House will be hosting a workshop on traditional icons, “Praying with Icons and Symbols.”  The first presentation will be on Wednesday, February 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.  Presenter is Father Gabriel from St. Anthony of the Desert Orthodox Mission.  Please call (575) 524-3688 for registration.
    • Please support the Knights of Columbus annual enchilada dinner benefitting the Las Cruces Catholic School next Sunday, February 12th from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2755 E. Idaho Ave.  $6.00 per plate
    • The Cemetery Committee will have a meeting on Wednesday, February 15th at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room.  New members are welcome.
    • Holy Cross School invites everyone to a potluck Valentine’s Dance on Saturday, February 18th from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the Lucero Room.  This is a fundraiser to help a family who lost their home in a fire.  $15.00 per person.   
    • Our next pre-baptismal classes for parents and godparents will be held on February 7th and 8th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Parish Hall.  Our next baptism date is Sunday, February 19th.  Paperwork must be completed in the office by Wednesday, February 15th.
    • Ash Wednesday is February 22nd.  It marks the beginning of the Lenten Season, a time to reflect on the love of Jesus for us.  Masses will be at 7:00 a.m., 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m.  Distribution of ashes will be after each Mass, and at 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. and at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.
